Vattenfall and 8.2 Consulting AG consolidate their cooperation by signing the third framework agreement in the offshore wind energy segment.

8.2 Consulting AG along with its Dutch partner OrangeWind was awarded a four-year framework contract with reference to wind turbine project engineering and interface management tasks for offshore wind farms in Europe.
This is already the third framework agreement signed by 8.2 Consulting AG with Vattenfall this year. Prior to this, two contracts for quality surveillance from wind turbine manufacturing through to final commissioning of offshore wind turbines were concluded.
Vattenfall is one of the largest wind farm developers and operators in Europe with currently 3 GW installed wind power. By 2025, this will be expanded up to 7 GW. For more than 10 years, 8.2 has been supporting Vattenfall’s wind energy projects.
“We look back on a decade of successful cooperation in various offshore projects of Vattenfall and are looking forward to ongoingly support with our expertise in the future. We are happy to enter our third agreement focused on wind turbine project engineering and interface management, together with OrangeWind. The agreement creates conditions that enable us to react more specific and flexible to personnel requirements and thus, results in a faster and more efficient handling of the project requests.” says Benjamin Quader, Head of Offshore Wind at 8.2 Consulting AG.
“OrangeWind is happy to be given the opportunity to contribute to Vattenfall’s ambitions. When 8.2 reached out to partner up, we felt that our expertise with contracting, package and project management would create a perfect fit with Vattenfall’s request.” says Willem Schellingerhout, Managing Partner at OrangeWind.
“The consortium of 8.2 and OrangeWind convinced us in terms of the qualifications and experience of its consultants as well as the experience and track record of the two companies. We have worked with 8.2 in the past and have found the company and its consultants to be of a high calibre with a transparent and professional communication style. We look forward to expanding this relationship to include OrangeWind and are glad to have the consortium on board as a partner for future projects”, says Nicholas Thompson, Manager of WTG Project Engineering in the BU Offshore, BA Wind, Vattenfall.
Since its foundation in 2006, 8.2 Consulting AG has been providing independent expertise for the onshore and offshore wind industry. With technical consultancy services, grid integration expertise, technical due diligence, quality assurance and technical inspections, 8.2 supports inter alia manufacturers, operators, investors and project developers.
